Job summary

Vanderbilt University is seeking a Leadership Communications Specialist (Term) to develop high-quality executive communications and leadership content for the Chancellor and senior leaders. The role combines strategic thinking, rapid content development, and AI-enabled workflows to support university priorities.

Based in Nashville, the role collaborates with the Director of Integrated Communications and across MarComm to deliver speeches, talking points, scripts and other leadership materials

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least five years of experience in executive/strategic communications.
  • Ability to rapidly synthesize complex information into clear, compelling communications.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools for content development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as speechwriter for designated university leadership.
  • Produce high-quality written and multimedia content efficiently using editorial judgment and AI-enabled workflows.
  • Rapidly synthesize information from meetings and briefings into audience-appropriate communications.
  • Refine and elevate draft materials to align with leadership voice and objectives.
  • Partner with university leadership to translate priorities into communications deliverables.
  • Evaluate and adopt new tools to improve efficiency and scalability.
