Job summary

SpaceXAI in Palo Alto seeks an Executive Sous Chef to lead multiple dining outlets and elevate high-end experiences for guests and VIPs. You will work with the executive sous chef to design concepts, supervise outlets, and ensure consistency across services.

The role requires a versatile culinary skill set, leadership, and a can-do attitude, with emphasis on employee engagement and mentoring a talented team. Knowledge of safety and cost targets is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Culinary degree and 4+ years of industry experience; or 6+ years of industry experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a multi-outlet operation facility.
• Kitchen and/or dining area renovation/construction experience.
• Ability to carry large heavy items, up to 25 lbs.
• ServSafe or equivalent manager-level food handler certification.
• Able to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours).
• Frequent bending, stooping, and lifting.
• Willing to work all shifts, extended hours and weekends.
• Participate in internal leadership and development training.
• Valid Driver's License and Food Managers Certification.

Responsibilities

• Follow, set, and enforce standards of operation in multiple kitchen outlets environments and service formats.
• Support executive chef and/or sous chef with operation, team development, and department oversight.
• Enforce food and workplace safety in all areas.
• Train staff on work planning materials, safety protocols, and health guidelines.
• Oversee hiring and disciplinary decisions prioritizing team wellbeing.
• Coordinate openings of new outlets with emphasis on VIP experiences.
• Ensure ongoing operation of outlets in day-to-day operation.
• Plan and meet cost per head targets at sites/outlets.
• Support hiring, development, retention and team management for all staff.
