About The Smith

The Smith is an extremely popular casual neighborhood brasserie – in fact, several of our locations are among the Top 100 busiest restaurants in the US! The menu features bistro classics, seasonal fare, and craft cocktails. Our signature lively atmosphere makes The Smith a versatile setting for an after-work bite, drinks on the town, a birthday bash, a working lunch, a bountiful brunch, or an I-don’t-want-to-cook-tonight night.

The Position: Executive Sous Chef

  • Thorough hands-on approach, develop and promote learning for all back-of-house employees.
  • Upholding the highest standards of food safety, food handling, and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of staff and guests.
  • Assist the Chef de Cuisine with weekly specials.
  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies
  • Manage labor house and kitchen waste.
  • Teach Corner Table Restaurants Core Values to all new hires and existing teams.
  • Attend all necessary senior management meetings in the absence of the Chef De Cuisine.

Location

The position is based in Washington, DC

The base pay for this position is a salary range of $100,000-$125,000. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
