Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Chic property in Napa is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in oversight of daily operations for the non-union property. It is a popular destination for breathtaking events and the team is looking for an Executive Sous Chef who enjoys delivering memorable parties. In addition, there are limited service outlets, with the main focus on breakfast and events. The ideal chef is extremely organized, strong with admin, passionate about executing banquets at a high level, and loves jumping in whenever needed to create structure and guide the team to successful events. Strong culinary management structure & banquet team in place - and great benefits!

Executive Sous Chef Responsibilities:

  • Support Executive Chef in leading culinary operations
  • Spearhead administrative functions including but not limited to: proper ordering and inventory, scheduling, employee management, cost controls
  • Lead successful event execution and ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served
  • Maintain a positive work environment through effective, professional communication with other employees and managers
  • Working cleanly, efficiently, and with respect for ingredients
  • Ensure best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen

Executive Sous Chef Preferred Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as an Executive Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or Senior Sous Chef in a luxury hotel, boutique hotel or Forbes-starred hotel
  • Ample experience executing banquets and events in a luxury hotel/boutique hotel setting required
  • Strong administrative skills, including familiarity with payroll applications and employee time management
  • Proficiency in Spanish highly preferred
  • Flexibility and adaptability to the property’s needs as they arise
  • Ability to implement structure and communicate effectively, both verbal and written, creating a respectful and positive work environment
  • Enforcement of safety/sanitation standards and procedures
  • Ability to take and give direction
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
