Job summary

The Avery Point Group has been retained to conduct a confidential search for a Vice President & Site General Manager for a leading precision CNC manufacturer in Rockford, IL. This hands-on, executive role directs site operations and drives Lean improvements to enable growth while ensuring safety and quality.

The successful candidate will sit on the executive team, manage production, scheduling, and supply chain, and lead capacity planning and talent development across the site.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive operational leadership experience in manufacturing.
• 3+ years in a senior site leadership role (Plant Manager/GM/Director of Ops).
• Strong experience in precision CNC machining or high-precision manufacturing.
• Hands-on understanding of multi-axis CNC machining and GD&T.
• Experience with lean, daily management, visual controls, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead all site operations including production, scheduling, supply chain, quality, facilities and safety.
• Join the executive team and shape strategic direction and operating plans.
• Drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement across the site.
• Direct production scheduling, supply chain, quality, facilities, and execution.
• Transition new work from development to stable full-rate production.
• Establish disciplined operating cadence linking strategy to daily execution.
• Conduct regular Gemba walks and structured operating reviews.
• Coach leaders on schedule adherence, capacity planning, and customer commitments.
• Monitor on-time delivery, quality, productivity, and inventory metrics.
• Strengthen capacity planning for staffing, capex, and flow.
• Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, security, and customer requirements.
