Job summary

Pavarini McGovern, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking a Safety Director for New York City, NY. The role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all safety and health initiatives across the organization to drive a proactive safety culture and regulatory compliance.

The position leads safety management across multiple projects, develops policies and training, and ensures incident investigations and data-driven improvements are implemented for long-term safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a safety-related field.
• 7+ years in a leadership role managing safety personnel across large construction projects.
• 5+ years in a leadership role across multiple large construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the organization's senior safety leader, establishing vision and performance expectations for safety initiatives.
• Align safety objectives with organizational goals and business growth strategies.
• Advise executives on risk exposure, regulatory developments, and best practices in construction safety.
• Provide reports on safety performance, incident trends, and corrective actions to senior leadership.
• Lead initiatives to reduce risk and improve safety culture and operational performance.
• Integrate safety considerations into strategic planning and preconstruction activities.
• Represent the company in regulatory, client, and insurance interactions.
