Job summary

Kumori Mori in the United States invites applications for a Restaurant Manager to lead the management team, drive performance, and ensure top-quality guest experiences. You will supervise scheduling, budgeting, training, and development of staff while promoting Kumori/Mori culture and community engagement.

Applicants should have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with experience in restaurant operations and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of restaurant management experience.
• Experience running shifts without supervision.
• Work a minimum 5 day week including irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of interviewing and selection practices.
• Knowledge of federal/state labor laws and local health and sanitation laws.
• Leadership and supervisory skills; strong verbal and written communication.
• Basic accounting and computer skills.
• Ability to multi-task and solve problems.
• Adherence to appearance, uniform and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the Management team including scheduling and setting expectations.
• Manage performance through evaluations, coaching and accountability.
• Plan and implement weekly, monthly and yearly budgets.
• Hire, train and develop Team Members for larger roles.
• Drive guest engagement and build community relationships.
• Control costs using Kumori/Mori systems.
• Perform restaurant opening and/or closing duties.
• Maintain sanitation records as required by authorities.
• Manage inventories and recordkeeping for food and equipment.
• Oversee food prep methods, portions and presentation quality.
• Investigate and resolve guest complaints about food or service.
• Model behavior and uphold standards across the team.
• Foster open communication between staff and management.
• Champion changes and restaurant initiatives.
• Communicate Kumori/Mori culture and values.
• Create and adjust staff schedules as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
• Aim for KPI goals in inventory, cost and overtime control.
• Support other locations when needed.
• Perform any other duties assigned.
