Job summary

Sound Transit in Seattle, WA seeks a Chief Quality & Audit Officer to lead the Quality and Internal Audit team, reporting to the CEO with direct ties to the Board’s Finance and Audit Committee. This executive role focuses on strategic quality management, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance across the agency.

The position requires extensive leadership experience, expertise in quality programs aligned with FTA guidelines, and strong collaboration with executive leadership and agency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Quality Management, Audit, Construction Management, Project Management, Process Improvement.
  • Twelve years in capital project management and delivery, engineering, construction management, audit, or manufacturing experience.
  • Ten years of leadership, budgetary, planning, and workforce management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee a robust agency framework for quality and audit, including an FTA compliant plan.
  • Advance quality and internal audit through continuous improvement and strategic leadership.
  • Direct and review the Quality and Internal Audit team’s work with annual work plans.
  • Lead the Agency’s Quality and Internal Audit program and ensure proper structure and processes.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Quality and Internal Audit team.
  • Lead organizational design, staffing, and recruitment for the team.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the agency.
