Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a skilled Close Protection Officer to safeguard executives and VIPs. You will plan security for travel, events, and daily activities, coordinating secure transport and threat monitoring.

The role requires discretion, rapid response, and ongoing training in defensive tactics and medical readiness. Based in Rosemead, CA, you will work on-site with potential travel across the SCE territory.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in law-enforcement, military, or security field.
• Experience in security and protective services.
• Active California driver’s license is required.
• Current CA BSIS Guard Permit and Exposed Firearm Carry Permit (or ability to obtain).
• CCW license or LEOSA compliance is required.
• Post-offer cardiovascular and behavioral-health evaluations completed.
• Ability to perform physical-fitness activities and tests.
• Maintain self-defense proficiency and readiness.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection to executives during travel, events, and daily activities.
• Coordinate secure transportation, route planning, and contingencies.
• Monitor surroundings and deter threats using counter-surveillance.
• Conduct risk assessments and site visits to identify vulnerabilities.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Align protection protocols with broader security strategies.
• Maintain confidentiality of the principal's information and plans.
• Stay current with defensive tactics and emergency medical response training.
