Job summary

Progressive Insurance is seeking a senior executive protection professional to secure high-profile individuals and coordinate protective operations across multiple sites. The role requires flexibility for after-hours work, nights, weekends and holidays, plus travel 1–2 times per month.

Candidates must have extensive executive protection experience, a valid driver’s license, and an endorsement or LEOSA eligibility for firearms.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of executive protection in corporate security, law enforcement, military, or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in criminal justice with five+ years executive protection experience.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Compliance with Progressive’s driving standards/policies.
• Must have firearm endorsement or qualify under LEOSA to carry a firearm.
• Current Basic Life Support (AED, CPR) certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Schedule

This role requires a high degree of scheduling flexibility to work after hours, nights, weekends and holidays as necessary. Frequent overnight travel, including weekends. Travel frequency is 1-2 times per month.

Must-have Qualifications

• A minimum of eight years of executive protection work in corporate security, law enforcement, military, or related field
• OR Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field of study (criminal justice) and a minimum of five years executive protection work in corporate security, law enforcement, military, or related field
• This position requires a valid drivers license and auto insurance
• This position requires compliance with Progressive's driving standards and/or policies
• Must have a firearm bearer endorsement from Ohio Homeland Security and/or qualify under the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act to carry a firearm
• Must have a current Basic Life Support (AED, CPR) certificate, or be able to obtain within 6 months of employment

• Proven experience in executive protection, with a strong track record of ensuring safety and security for high-profile individuals.
• Demonstrated expertise as a first responder, with the ability to act quickly and effectively in emergencies.
• Exceptional ability to maintain a professional and composed demeanor in high-pressure or stressful environments.
• Advanced proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office, along with a deep understanding of physical security industry tools such as access control, visitor management, alarm systems, surveillance systems, and incident reporting platforms.
• Ability to evaluate situations, apply company policies, and seek assistance when necessary, all while remaining calm and composed under pressure.

Compensation

• $89,600 - $119,500/year
• Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

• Required to run, walk, stand, or sit for extended or intermittent periods of time.
• Ability to withstand extremes of climate exposure and exposure to health and safety hazards.
• Ability to demonstrate strength, stamina, endurance and flexibility while lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, climbing stairs or running as needed.
• Variable lifting requirement including sufficient strength to assist in lifting or guiding an emergency.
• Ability to react quickly and physically restrain or detain where physical force is necessary and appropriate to neutralize potential threats.
• Must possess strong reflexes and the physical capability to perform defensive driving techniques. This includes high-speed driving, evasive maneuvers, and reacting under stress in situations such as ambushes or threats while in transit.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment such as radios, telephones, firearms, cameras, etc.
• Ability to operate job-related equipment, including a motor vehicle, while performing multiple tasks such as radio operations and observation.
• Vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Involves frequent driving.
