Job summary

Napa County is accepting applications for a Chief Appraiser to lead the Assessor Valuation Division within the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk Department.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in economics, civil engineering, accounting, business, or public administration, and five years of property appraisal experience with at least three in supervision. Licenses as Real Property Appraiser are required and Advanced certification desirable.

Qualifications

• Five years of increasingly responsible property appraising or auditing experience including three years of supervisory responsibility.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework as listed above.

Responsibilities

• Direct, manage, supervise, and coordinate the Assessor Valuation Division activities including valuing and auditing real and personal property and overseeing assessment appeals.
• Provide strategic direction and administer policies, programs, and procedures to achieve division objectives.
• Possibly serve as Deputy Assessor when needed.
