Houston or Odessa, Texas | $195,000–$220,000+ base salary | Full-time
Lead the teams and delivery strategy behind complex, mission-critical data center programs.
We’re seeking a senior construction leader to oversee multiple data center projects or major work packages from planning through commissioning and turnover. You’ll guide project leaders, work directly with clients and executives, and keep safety, schedule, quality, and commercial performance on track.
What You’ll Do
- Set program priorities, staffing plans, procurement strategy, milestones, and turnover sequencing.
- Lead project teams and coordinate owners, contractors, engineers, trade partners, vendors, and commissioning teams.
- Oversee critical electrical infrastructure, including substations, medium- and low-voltage distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, busway, controls, and EPMS.
- Coordinate energization, LOTO, switching, MOP/SOP/EOP procedures, testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and turnover.
- Monitor program performance, address risks early, and lead recovery plans when key milestones are at risk.
- Manage financial and commercial performance, including forecasts, margin, cost-to-complete, cash flow, productivity, and change management.
- Develop project managers, superintendents, project controls staff, and system owners.
- Lead client and executive reviews, resolve escalations, and support proposals, constructability reviews, and account growth.
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of progressive construction, engineering, or program management experience, including at least 5 years leading data center, mission-critical, or similarly complex infrastructure projects.
- Experience leading multiple project teams, a major campus, or complex electrical scopes.
- Experience with hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, cloud, or AI/HPC data centers is valued, as is experience with self-perform electrical construction, EPC delivery, design-assist, fast-track procurement, or phased turnover.
- PMP, an electrical license, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E training, a commissioning credential, or familiarity with P6 and comparable project systems are helpful.
- Working knowledge of mission-critical electrical systems, energization, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and turnover.
- Strong project controls skills, including schedule management, labor forecasting, productivity, cost forecasting, and change management.
- Ability to interpret contracts, drawings, specifications, one-lines, submittals, RFIs, sequences of operation, and test plans.
- Executive communication, client leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work from Houston or Odessa, Texas, and travel regularly to active project sites.
- A bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent field leadership experience will be considered.
Additional Advantage
Experience in AI, cloud, semiconductor, or data platform partnerships can bring added value to this role—particularly work connecting executive strategy with technical delivery, building global teams, managing a P&L, or delivering solutions in regulated markets.
Familiarity with platforms such as Xeon, OpenVINO, CUDA, x86, or OPEA—and standards such as HIPAA, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, SOC 2, ITAR, GxP, or HITECH—is beneficial.
