Job description

Firaxis is looking for an experienced Executive Producer (EP) to helm production on our next title! Partnering with the Creative Director, you will lead and empower the development team, drive to success through each achievement, and foster a collaborative team environment.

What You Will Do :

The EP will own end-to-end development of the title and act as the business owner for the product. You will champion the creative vision, look after the health of the organization, and strategically assess and guide the project team through each phase of development. Specifically, you will :

  • Be accountable for product quality. Ensure that game features and functionality support creative pillars and strategic goals.
  • Preserve a creative environment, motivate all developers, nurture team health, and foster a culture of success.
  • Work with Firaxis Leadership Team to formulate strategies and operating plans for the dev team and implement or adjust the plans as needed.
  • Oversee and direct the work of the production team, managing leads/seniors and developing the entire department.
  • Act as the standard bearer for production excellence both in practice and mentorship.
  • Assist in crafting and sustaining budgets, cost forecasts, and resourcing plans.
  • Partner with supporting functional teams including marketing, publishing, licensing, finance, customer service, and quality assurance.
  • Contribute to company goals and core values, and reinforce through actions.
  • Build work schedules with internal and external teams, team leads, and executive management.
  • Manage projects to schedule across evolving priorities, departmental interdependencies, and resource issues and risks.
  • Plan for all project publishing needs, including key artifacts, submissions, release, marketing, and PR items.
  • Mitigate production issues and challenges between schedule, cost, and scope targets and proactively offer solutions.

What You Bring :

  • 10+ years of experience with 5+ years of management experience.
  • Proven experience leading and shipping AAA PC and console games.
  • Expert knowledge of industry-standard project management methodologies (waterfall, scrum, kanban, etc.) and the value and place of each.
  • Familiarity interacting with executive leadership teams and strong public speaking abilities.
  • Passionate understanding of video game development, the video game industry as a whole, and latest trends in design and productization.
  • Ability to form consensus, define and drive action items from ambiguity.
  • Demonstrable ability to develop sophisticated project roadmaps and staffing plans.
  • Experience defining and implementing development processes as well as identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Skilled at clearly and concisely communicating information across large, distributed teams as well as keeping external collaborators informed.
  • Skilled in JIRA, MS, and Google Office Suites.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence without authority.
  • Ability to handle high pressure situations, instill calm within uncertainty, and prioritize tenaciously.
  • Must be dependable, proactive, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Own the outcome from start to finish.
