The SBC Executive Committee is looking for an Executive Pastor to oversee ministries and strategic operations at Fayetteville First Baptist Church. The successful candidate will partner closely with the Senior Pastor to lead the staff and align church operations with its mission of making disciples.
This role demands a committed Christian with prior pastoral experience, effective communication skills, and a gospel-centered approach to church management. Responsibilities include recruiting staff, mentoring leaders, and ensuring effective ministry operations.
The Executive Pastor is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight for the ministries, staff, and operations of Fayetteville First Baptist Church in order to advance the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. He will partner closely with the Senior Pastor to translate ministry vision into effective ministry systems, ensuring theological faithfulness, organizational health, and ministry alignment across the church. The Executive Pastor will serve as a biblically qualified shepherd to the congregation and staff, equipping and leading ministry leaders to accomplish their goals while cultivating a culture of accountability, unity, and gospel-centered service. The Executive Pastor is an "among the people" role, not a "closed door office job" role. While the Executive Pastor will oversee ministry systems, his primary focus will be the spiritual health, effectiveness, and unity of the church’s leaders and ministries. Through leadership development, strategic planning, and day-to-day management, he will help steward the church’s people and resources for faithful and effective Great Commission ministry.
This is a general statement of job responsibilities; however, the Executive Pastor is expected to perform other duties as required to support the mission and ministries of Fayetteville First Baptist Church including job duty changes due to pandemics or any other unexpected change in operations.
Supervises the ministry staff and administrative staff and is involved in hiring processes for each.
