Job summary

Cornell University, on its Ithaca, NY campus, is seeking an Executive Assistant to the Director of Athletics and Physical Education. The role helps manage a fast-paced office, coordinating calendars, travel, and communications while liaising with university leaders, coaches, staff, and student-athletes.

You will serve as a trusted partner to the Director, ensuring discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail in all interactions and projects across the athletics department.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced administrative setting.
• Excellent organizational and judgment skills with experience maintaining confidentiality.
• Self-starter able to proactively identify and drive projects forward independently.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and support multiple people.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms) and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic administrative and operational support to the Director of Athletics and Physical Education.
• Coordinate a complex calendar and domestic/international travel arrangements.
• Prepare agendas, briefing materials, presentations, and follow-up communications.
• Manage high-volume email and draft/edit correspondence and reports.
• Coordinate office operations, purchases, reimbursements, and stakeholder communications.
