Merck is seeking a National Sales Leader for US Ophthalmology to drive strategy, lead field teams, and collaborate with Marketing, Market Access, and Operations. This role reports to the US Ophthalmology Franchise Lead and sits on the Leadership Team.

The role emphasizes building high-performing retina-focused teams, delivering growth, and maintaining ethical, patient-centric leadership across the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years combined experience in pharmaceutical/biotech sales, sales leadership, and commercial operational roles.
• Strong knowledge of US healthcare dynamics including access/reimbursement considerations.
• Proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams and strategic agility.

Responsibilities

• Lead, recruit, onboard, train, develop, and retain a large sales organization including district sales managers.
• Drive product launch readiness and commercial growth with cross-functional partners.
• Establish performance standards, incentive plans, and succession planning.
