Job summary

RAND Center on AI, Security, and Technology seeks an Executive Operations Manager to support the Director's leadership operations. This high-ownership role connects CAST across RAND and external partners, enabling high-leverage priorities through structured calendars and efficient workflows.

You will manage complex agendas, travel, and broad stakeholder engagement, coordinating with an administrative team and senior technical leads on priority initiatives.

Qualifications

• At least two years of relevant professional experience in research, philanthropy, government, frontier labs, or fieldbuilding programs.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure.
• Operational management capabilities and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with large, diverse teams including both junior and senior members.
• Discretion handling confidential information and high-stakes meetings.
• Excellent communication with a wide range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the Director's agenda and daily flow with appropriate context and materials.
• Manage travel flow for roughly two trips per month with administrative support.
• Conduct quarterly calendar reviews and delegate time where possible.
• Support RAND-wide processes, including quarterly reporting and board prep.
• Build and maintain a CRM of actors across government, industry, and AI security.
• Support the Director and senior technical leads on special projects.
• Handle ad hoc requests in high-stakes work and draft communications.
• Oversee CAST's San Francisco office day-to-day operations.
