Job summary

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at St. John's Living leads strategic nursing initiatives at the skilled nursing facility, setting clinical standards and ensuring elder-directed care with sustained regulatory compliance.

You will partner with medical leadership, quality, and operations to drive quality outcomes, workforce stability, and performance improvement, while maintaining survey readiness and clinical integrity across all nursing services.

Qualifications

• Current New York State RN license required.
• BSN required; MSN or Healthcare Administration preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing or similar regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive clinical oversight for nursing services and establish standards for nursing practice and patient care.
• Lead and mentor the nursing leadership structure, including the Director of Nursing and other leaders.
• Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute clinical strategy aligned with quality outcomes and workforce stability.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, NYSDOH, and other regulatory requirements; lead survey readiness efforts.
• Oversee QAPI, using dashboards and data to identify trends and drive improvement.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to strengthen clinical coordination and resident outcomes.
• Support infection prevention, antibiotic stewardship, and clinical education.
• Optimize EHR use and documentation to improve workflow and decision-making.
