Job summary

Universal Health Services' Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center in Washington, DC seeks a Director of Nursing – Medical Surgical to provide strategic leadership for inpatient nursing services. You will partner with the CNO to advance nursing practice, optimize resources, and drive performance across multiple departments, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care.

The role requires a BSN, DC RN license, and 5–7 years of progressive nursing leadership in acute care, with ACLS/BLS

Qualifications

• BSN required; DC RN license required.
• Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressive nursing leadership in an acute care hospital.
• Experience managing multiple inpatient units or service lines preferred.
• NE-BC/NEA-BC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for inpatient nursing services across multiple departments.
• Collaborate with CNO to execute nursing strategy and patient care initiatives.
• Ensure high-quality, safe, patient-centered care aligned with standards.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and resource allocation.
• Develop leaders to drive engagement, accountability, and performance.
• Drive clinical outcomes and patient experience with interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor KPIs like quality metrics and patient satisfaction.
• Lead quality and performance improvement initiatives.
