This iconic, ultra-modern, full-service hotel is surrounded by Broadway theaters and close to world-famous shopping and sightseeing. The hotel has 795 modern, newly renovated guestrooms.

Overview

The Sales & Service Manager is a key member of the Sales Team responsible for booking, coordinating, and executing successful smaller groups from start to finish. This individual will work closely with clients and internal departments to deliver exceptional service and uphold the world-class standards associated with the Hyatt brand and our premier Midtown Manhattan location. Responsibilities include direct booking and detailing of small meeting and room blocks for both corporate and social clients, maximizing hotel profitability and revenue through upselling to achieve sales goals.

Responsibilities
  • Perform job responsibilities in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Cultivate client partnerships and ensure all details are communicated and executed for a successful and enjoyable experience for all involved.
  • Actively sell guest rooms and food & beverage to small groups, ensuring monthly and quarterly goals are met.
  • Review sales contracts, room blocks, cut-off dates, special concessions, and attrition clauses, and validate with clients.
  • Monitor and enforce deadlines related to group room cut-offs, BEO requirements, and function guarantees.
  • Create and distribute group resumes, communicate changes to relevant departments promptly.
  • Recommend enhancements or upgrades to maximize revenue.
  • Engage in site visits and client meetings as needed.
  • Confirm payment information.
  • Participate in weekly sales, operations, and BEO meetings.
  • Prepare proposals and contracts, advising prospective guests on hotel meeting space and rate availability, and quote prices within guidelines.
  • Represent the hotel professionally at client and industry functions.
  • Obtain rooming list details and request deposits when applicable.
  • Maintain a passion and drive to outperform the competition.
  • Attend all relevant department and hotel meetings.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Superior communication skills (written & verbal, including phone skills).
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Knowledge of sales software (e.g., Delphi, SalesPro, Marriott Systems) is helpful.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and work well under pressure.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of sales experience, preferably in hospitality.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to close deals.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to call on clients.
  • Focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as required, as hospitality is a 24/7 industry.
  • Strong sales skills to influence and persuade buying decisions, and to develop and maintain key partnerships.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for meetings and events.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize tasks and maintain attention to detail.
