Job summary

Oak Street Health seeks a Senior Medical Director to lead provider teams in a value-based primary care model. The role partners with regional leadership to achieve clinical excellence, improve hospital utilization, and elevate patient satisfaction while physicians practice part of each week in clinics.

The position requires an MD/DO/DNP with 5+ years outpatient experience and 3+ years in physician leadership, plus strong data-driven decision making and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/DNP degree and board certification in Internal or Family Medicine.
• Minimum 5 years of outpatient practice experience.
• Minimum 3 years in physician management or as medical director overseeing 20+ providers.
• Experience with managed care and value-based practice.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead provider teams in the local market to deliver high-quality care.
• Partner with Regional VP to achieve operational and clinical excellence.
• Interview, hire, and retain providers across the region.
• Review quality dashboards and drive initiatives to improve outcomes.
• Represent Oak Street to external partners and support care model enhancements.
