Job summary

State of Nebraska's Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Facility Administrator for the YRTC-Hastings in Hastings. This role provides executive leadership and day-to-day oversight of a 24/7 residential facility serving female youth committed to DHHS for rehabilitation and treatment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public administration, behavioral sciences, social work, psychology, or related field.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible leadership in juvenile justice, corrections, residential treatment, behavioral health, child welfare, or related environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and day-to-day oversight of YRTC-Hastings 24/7 operations.
• Build a strong facility culture with engaged staff and high-quality services for youth.
• Oversee operations, staffing, safety, security, treatment and rehabilitation services.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, licensing, accreditation, PREA, and juvenile justice best practices.
• Lead the facility's response to incidents and operational challenges with clear communication.
• Monitor workforce trends and develop strategies to address staffing challenges.
• Promote trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches balancing safety and rehabilitation.
• Maintain visible leadership and strong relationships with youth, families, partners, and staff.
• Oversee budgets and resources aligned with priorities; collaborate with DHHS leadership.
