Job summary

New York Common Pantry is seeking a Chief Program & Strategy Officer to lead programs, impact strategy, government affairs, and research. Reporting to the CEO, the CPSO shapes growth, ensures mission-aligned services, and guides governance across food programs, social services, and evaluation.

The role supervises senior leaders, collaborates with finance, development, operations, and HR, and partners with external stakeholders to advance NYCP’s equity and outcome-driven mission.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in public administration, public policy, public health, nonprofit management, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership in human services or nonprofit sectors.
• Experience with strategic planning, growth, and systems-level leadership.
• Experience working with government agencies, funding, contracts, and compliance.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and oversight for all NYCP programs and services.
• Ensure high-quality, client-centered, equitable and culturally responsive service delivery.
• Strengthen integration among programs to maximize client outcomes and access to services.
• Monitor program performance, quality, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
• Lead planning related to program growth, new initiatives, and mission impact.
• Develop strategies that expand NYCP’s impact, geographic reach, partnerships, and service models.
• Oversee government affairs and public funding strategy.
• Oversee research, evaluation, data analytics, and impact measurement.
