Job summary

The VA San Diego Healthcare System is recruiting a Physician - Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (PALMS). This role provides administrative, clinical and program leadership to ensure clinical, research and education goals are met.

As the VA medical facility CLIA Laboratory Director, you will oversee all testing, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide QA, OPPE/FPPE, and performance-improvement initiatives within PALMS across the facility.

Qualifications

• Requires MD or equivalent in allopathic/osteopathic medicine.
• Board certification and licensure requirements per VA policies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as VA medical facility CLIA Laboratory Director and lead PALMS operations.
• Oversee all laboratory testing and QA/QP for patient care.
• Participate in Clinical Executive Board and other medical staff committees.
• Direct and coordinate pathology and laboratory medicine services across the facility.
