Job summary

The City of Scottsdale is seeking a Deputy Director – Human Services to provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Human Services Division, guiding programs that enhance quality of life and promote self-sufficiency across all Scottsdale residents.

This executive role oversees senior services, youth and family services, behavioral health, homelessness services and more, reporting to Parks, Recreation & Human Services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Public Administration, or a related field; additional related fields may be accepted.
• Six years of supervisory, managerial and administrative experience in municipal recreation, parks, or human services.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for Scottsdale's Human Services Division.
• Oversee planning, development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive human services programs and facilities.
• Lead a broad portfolio including senior services, youth and family services, behavioral health, homelessness support, food and employment services.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Public Administration, or related field; Social Work, Urban Studies, Community Development also acceptable
