Job summary

The City of Atlanta is seeking a Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Enterprise Asset Management to lead lifecycle management of city facilities, integrate capital construction and maintenance, and drive energy efficiency initiatives. The role reports to the Commissioner and directs Real Estate, Building Operations, Technical Services, and Administration.

Responsibilities include strategic planning, staff leadership, capital program oversight, budget development, and ensuring facilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in facility management, construction management, engineering, or closely related field.
• Fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible management experience.
• Preferred: PMP, PE, FMP certifications and professional affiliations.

Responsibilities

• Directs the functions and overall operations of the Department of Enterprise Asset Management, including Real Estate, Building Operations, Technical Services and Administration.
• Manages staff, assigns workloads, evaluates performance, enforces policies, and handles disciplinary actions.
• Directs maintenance and improvement of facilities, plans lifecycle management and disposal options when needed.
• Oversees capital improvements and CIP project management, budgeting, and long-range planning.
