Job summary

The Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston seeks a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, with a joint appointment in the Department of Neurosurgery.

Based in Houston, TX, you will work in the Pediatric Neurosurgery unit and affiliated clinics, with 10–12 hour shifts including weekends, and rotation to associated hospitals. A strong focus on clinical excellence, teaching, and NIH-funded research is expected.

Qualifications

• Texas Medical license or eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.
• Board-certified or board-eligible for the American Board of Neurosurgery and the American Board of Pediatric Neurosurgery.
• Trained at an Accredited American Board of Neurosurgery Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daytime consults, procedures, and admissions.
• Manage inpatient care, discharge planning, and post-operative follow-up.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Educate fellows, residents, and students; may participate in NIH-funded studies.
• Lead and participate in educational, quality-improvement and research initiatives.
