Job summary

Phoenix Tailings is seeking a Vice President of Engineering Projects to lead the execution of its most significant engineering and capital projects, including the Freedom facility and future production assets. This executive will own delivery from engineering development and EPCM strategy through construction, commissioning, and handoff.

You will establish project governance, cost controls, and external partnerships to deliver complex facilities safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Engineering or a related technical discipline; advanced technical or business degree is a plus.
• 15+ years of progressive experience delivering major capital projects in mining, minerals processing, metals, chemical processing, refining, heavy industrial, or similarly complex process industries.
• Experience directing EPC, EPCM, or owner-led project delivery models across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
• Proven track record of taking complex industrial facilities from early engineering through construction and handoff.
• Executive-level communication and decision-making skills for leadership audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering and execution strategy for major capital projects, including the Freedom facility and future assets.
• Own project delivery across engineering, procurement, construction management, commissioning, and startup.
• Direct and manage EPCM firms, engineers, construction partners, and equipment suppliers.
• Establish governance, stage-gate processes, design review standards, and risk management systems.
• Drive projects from FEED through detailed design, construction, commissioning, and readiness.
• Provide executive oversight of budgets, forecasts, contracting, procurement, and contingencies.
• Identify and resolve technical, schedule, constructability, supply-chain, and execution risks.
• Build and lead an internal engineering projects organization for multiple programs.
• Ensure facilities are safe, maintainable, reliable, and scalable for long-term production.
