Job summary

The Chair of the Division of Correctional Health will provide administrative and clinical leadership for Cermak Health Services, overseeing physicians and physician assistants, guiding quality improvement, and coordinating clinical programs within CHS. This role will also ensure smooth clinical operations and strategic direction in a high‑volume correctional health setting.

This executive position requires strong governance, hospital leadership experience, and collaboration with Cook County

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited college or university.
• Licensed as a physician in the relevant state prior to starting employment.
• Board certification in a respective medical specialty preferred.
• Experience in a complex healthcare leadership or administrative role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical services provided by the division and supervise physicians and physician assistants.
• Coordinate quality improvement activities and departmental policies.
• Lead strategic planning for clinical operations and information systems.
• Collaborate with Labor Relations and department leadership to implement program changes.
• Represent the Chair in meetings and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
