Guardian Life is seeking a Head of AI Platform Engineering – Execution Plane to lead the development and implementation of the enterprise platform’s execution layer. You will oversee agent runtimes, model gateways, tool gateways, and orchestration frameworks, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive automation that scales the business while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, management or related field.
• Strong people leadership experience managing software teams, including hiring and coaching.
• Hands-on background designing and operating production-grade distributed systems and AI/ML platforms.
• Experience leading execution-layer platform teams (runtime services, model inference, orchestration, retrieval, etc.).
• Ability to own roadmap and delivery for execution plane capabilities.
• Understanding of data access patterns, embeddings, vector/search, etc.
• Experience with observability, SLOs, incident response, CI/CD.
• Security/compliance requirements for runtime execution.
