Job summary

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking an Executive Director, Assistant General Counsel, Intellectual Property (IP) to lead global patent strategy and IP management across the portfolio, candidates, platform technologies, and newly acquired or licensed assets.

Reporting to the VP, Legal & IP, the role drives robust protection while supporting corporate development through IP due diligence and integration planning.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified US Patent Attorney with 12+ years in biopharma IP.
• Experience managing IP practitioners and staff.
• Strong due diligence, licensing, and collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Advise senior leadership on strategic IP directions to enable business objectives.
• Supervise IP team members supporting programs and projects across Jazz portfolio.
• Develop and execute global patent strategies to maximize asset value and exclusivity.
• Conduct comprehensive IP due diligence for acquisitions, licenses, collaborations, and partnerships.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen the IP portfolio through cross-functional engagement and competitive analysis.
• Oversee outside counsel for patent prosecution, due diligence, and litigation matters.
