Job summary

Howard University’s Faculty Practice Plan seeks a Strategic Initiatives Manager to partner with the CEO/COO, coordinating strategic priorities, special projects, and executive operations. The role drives project planning, tracks milestones, and ensures effective communication with internal and external stakeholders in an academic healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be substituted.
• Minimum of 2–5 years of progressively responsible administrative, operations, or executive support experience.
• Experience supporting senior leaders, physicians, or department leadership preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects, initiatives, or workstreams simultaneously.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate strategic initiatives, work plans, timelines, and progress tracking for CEO-sponsored projects.
• Provide high-level administrative and operational support to the CEO, including meeting preparation and executive communications.
• Serve as a liaison across departments, coordinating cross-functional activities and ensuring accountability for initiatives.
• Develop executive analyses and presentations, track action items, and support governance activities.
