Job summary

Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, AZ seeks an Associate Director of Medical Imaging to provide operational leadership across CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, X-Ray and related services.

You will lead imaging leaders and staff, monitor quality and safety metrics, drive workflow improvements, manage budgets, and partner with physicians to deliver patient-centered care while maintaining compliance and staff engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 5+ years supervisory imaging experience.
• ARRT certification and state licensure; MRI, Nuclear Medicine or CT certification preferred.
• BLS certification required; strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and support to imaging leaders, technologists, and staff across modalities.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, patient throughput, and department operations to ensure excellent patient care and service.
• Monitor metrics and implement improvement strategies to achieve departmental goals.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management and staff development efforts for leaders and staff.
• Oversee department budget and resource utilization; support organizational priorities.
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing leaders to optimize workflows and outcomes.
• Lead change management and process improvement initiatives within the department.
• Foster accountability, engagement, and patient-centered care.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation and safety standards.
