Manage the day-to-day operations for housekeeping and laundry departments.
Responsibilities and Requirements
- Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, counseling, discipline, and discharge of employees.
- Oversee the daily assignment of duties for Room/House Attendants to ensure understanding of work assignments.
- Purchase supplies for housekeeping/laundry and manage inventory.
- Maintain regular attendance according to hotel needs.
- Comply with standards and regulations to promote a safe and efficient hotel environment.
- Wear company uniform and name tag while on duty.
- Manage Room Attendants' work performance to meet standards and productivity levels.
- Inspect all rooms, including VIP rooms, and report availability to the front office according to hotel standards.
- Motivate staff to be aware of their environment and take responsibility for their work.
- Submit work orders for repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Attend meetings and trainings required by management.
- Conduct monthly department meetings to review hotel performance and address staff questions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management and participate in additional training if required.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work well under stress and maintain composure.
- Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand financial information, data, and perform basic mathematical functions.
- Must pass a background check.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods and reach overhead as needed.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
