Job summary

Bernalillo County seeks an experienced Health Services Administrator to provide executive leadership over the Metropolitan Detention Center's comprehensive health care delivery system. You will oversee medical, nursing, behavioral health, pharmacy, and reentry services to ensure accessible, high-quality care while maintaining budgets and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong management of staff, contracts, and performance, in collaboration with county leadership and external health

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health administration or related field.
• Twelve years of experience in health administration, financial management, clinical operations, regulatory compliance, and/or related field.
• Eight years of experience in a managerial role.

Responsibilities

• Directs the day-to-day operation of MDC’s health care delivery system across medical, nursing, behavioral health, pharmacy, dental, and reentry services.
• Supervises multidisciplinary health care teams and evaluates staff performance.
• Manages staffing, scheduling, recruitment, retention, and employee development.
• Oversees the site budget, expenditures, and financial reporting.
• Ensures compliance with NCCHC, ACA, PREA, HIPAA, and other regulations and standards.
• Leads CQI activities, audits, and corrective action plans for quality improvement.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in health administration or related field

Twelve years in health administration/related field

Eight years in a managerial role
