Job summary

The Teacher Retirement System of Texas seeks a Chief Investment Officer to provide strategic leadership for the Investment Management Division and oversee the pension portfolio's long-term objectives.

You will advise the Board, manage risk, governance, and staff development while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure prudent asset management and fiduciary responsibility for TRS assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related area.
• 15 years of full-time investment management or related experience.
• 8 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• A master’s or doctoral degree may substitute on an equivalent year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for the Investment Management Division and align strategy with obligations and objectives.
• Advise the Board on asset allocation, portfolio structure, risk capacity, and expected outcomes for the pension trust fund.
• Oversee execution of the Investment Policy Statement and related policies, laws, and rules.
