Job summary

The Makah Tribe is seeking a General Manager to lead the General Operations and act as the authorized manager for all Tribal Council governmental operations. This exempt position oversees daily operations, program administration, and policy implementation to ensure long-term stability and welfare of the Makah Tribe.

Responsibilities include supervising personnel, budgeting, procurement, and reporting to the Tribal Council; coordinating with directors, and ensuring compliance with administrative

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or related experience in business administration.
• At least five years experience in management and administration.
• Strong knowledge of finance, budgeting, and information management.
• Understanding of Indian treaty rights and Tribal sovereignty.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Tribal members and the public.
• Proven leadership in managing complex organizations.
• Ability to plan strategically in a changing federal/state/tribal environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for all programs authorized by the Tribal Council.
• Provide administrative supervision over tribal activities.
• Supervise personnel management, procurement, budgeting, and compliance.
• Meet with program directors weekly to review issues and resolve problems.
• Serve as liaison to Council and external organizations.
• Ensure timely budget formulation and reporting.
• Attend Tribal Council meetings and provide council with pertinent information.
