Job summary

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) seeks an Associate Structures Repair and Modification Technician for the Executive Fleet in San Antonio, TX. You will perform structural modifications and repairs on critical structures, reading engineering drawings and retrofit requirements to ensure accurate modifications.

Requires 4+ years’ experience with non-porous metals and heavy structures, plus familiarity with depot level procedures.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience working with non-porous metals such as aluminum, titanium and stainless.
• 4+ years of experience with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and SOPs.
• 4+ years using structures hand tools including drills 45° and 90°, pancake adapters, counter sink cages, hole finders and rivet guns.
• 4+ years of experience with heavy structures: locating, drilling, countersinking and fastening to aircraft.
• Ability to work variable shifts to support mission requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal and installation to critical structures and fracture critical areas.
• Locate blind holes for installation of new structural items to existing structure.
• Seal, paint, shim and preserve structure per repair processes.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders and retrofit requirements.
• Use tooling assemblies for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.
• Know aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and component replacement.
• Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts requests.
• Maintain certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work.
• Ascend/descend ladders, work in confined spaces, lift ~35 lbs.
• Ensure safety via Hazardous Energy controls and Lock Out/Tag.
