Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City is seeking a Vice President of Finance to provide strategic financial leadership and direction to sustain the organization’s mission. The role oversees budgeting, planning, reporting, audits, controls, and grant compliance, while managing risk and financial operations with a strong emphasis on integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required; significant related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Master's degree, CPA, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible accounting and financial management experience with leadership responsibility.
• Knowledge of nonprofit financial reporting, tax regulations, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with annual financial audits, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic financial direction with the President/CEO and Board of Directors.
• Oversee budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and dashboards.
• Manage audits, internal controls, and compliance with standards and grant requirements.
• Coordinate restricted-fund and grant accounting and reporting.
• Guide IT and data management of financial systems; liaison with external parties.
