Job summary

DC Government seeks an executive to oversee all citywide HVAC and boiler plant operations. The role directs the HVAC and Boiler Plant Operations teams, aligning safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance with district priorities.

The ideal candidate will lead strategic planning, manage budgets, and guide performance across District facilities while coordinating with Sustainability and Energy teams and executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Senior-level leadership experience in facilities management or equivalent.
• Experience directing HVAC and boiler plant operations across multiple facilities.
• Ability to develop division-wide goals, policies and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for all HVAC and boiler plant operations across the District facilities.
• Direct temporary staffing, budgets, and strategic capital planning for mechanical systems.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs and building automation system optimizations.
• Advise executive leadership on energy management, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure operations meet ASME, NFPA, OSHA and other standards.
