Job summary

HDI Global Insurance Company in Chicago, IL seeks an Environmental Liability Executive Underwriter to lead underwritings for U.S. environmental liability and implement the U.S. strategy.

This role requires entrepreneurial mindset and profitability focus in a commercial property and casualty environment. You will underwrite, manage a profitable book, and develop relationships with brokers nationwide, while collaborating with team leads and other divisions to cross-sell and grow market share.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to present and influence across levels.
• Strong financial analysis background with data-driven decisions.
• Proven track record building broker relationships nationwide.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and marketing skills.
• Self-starter with a drive to win profitable accounts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Environmental Liability Team Lead to develop and implement U.S. environmental strategy.
• Underwrite and manage a profitable book of business.
• Use underwriter authority per framework and guidelines.
• Manage select wholesale and retail broker relationships to meet objectives.
• Market cross-sell opportunities with other divisions.
• Maintain strong knowledge of marketplace conditions and trends.
• Make strategic recommendations to Environmental Team Lead.
• Assist in hiring requisitions with Environmental Liability leadership.
• Contribute to special projects and department initiatives.
