Job summary

The Executive Director of the FVMA is a results-driven, dynamic leader who connects deeply with members and continuously creates greater value for the association. The Executive Director is expected to build upon the FVMA's strong foundation in legislative affairs, expand our widely recognized continuing education programs, and grow the reach and impact of the FVMA Foundation and its programs.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of progressively responsible professional experience.
• Five or more years of leadership experience in health care, business, or veterinary industry.
• Demonstrated budget management of at least $2M and a team of 10+.
• Experience working with a membership or trade association.
• Familiarity with legislative and regulatory advocacy.
• CAE designation preferred or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the chief spokesperson for FVMA and lead strategic planning for growth.
• Oversee all financial operations, budgets, cash flow, and board reports.
• Develop and oversee continuing education, member services, and benefits.
• Foster a collaborative staff culture aligned with goals and values.
• Drive advocacy and public policy initiatives affecting veterinary professionals.
• Support board recruitment, governance, and bylaw compliance.
