Job summary

The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) seeks an Assistant Director to join the Education & Research Division. This leadership role supports the Chief Officer in proposing, developing and implementing policies and programs affecting veterinary research, education, and certification, with collaboration across AVMA governance entities.

Reporting to the Chief of Academic Affairs, Research & Accreditation, the role requires DVM/VMD with 3+ years’ experience, strong communication, project

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD required; PhD or board certification preferred.
• Minimum of three years' work experience.
• Knowledge of veterinary research and education helpful.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Support Chief Officer in proposing, developing and implementing AVMA policies and programs.
• Provide staff support for COR, ABVS and VSOC and administer the Veterinary Clinical Trials Registry (VCT).
