Job summary

The Tlingit & Haida Gaming Authority seeks a Tribal Gaming Agency Director in Juneau to serve as the executive administrator of the agency, overseeing the regulatory program, licensing, investigations, and enforcement aligned with IGRA and tribal laws.

The Director administers regulations, enforces standards, and ensures integrity of gaming operations while coordinating with tribal leadership, law enforcement, and external regulators.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IGRA and NIGC regulations.
• Understanding of tribal gaming commission responsibilities and authorities.
• Experience with licensing, background investigations, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to interpret tribal ordinances, policies, and gaming regulations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Strong written and verbal communication; report preparation.

Responsibilities

• Exercise regulatory oversight of the Tribal Gaming Agency and its operations.
• Enforce the Tribe's Gaming Ordinance and IGRA compliance.
• Supervise investigations and licensing activities; oversee regulatory inspections.
• Prepare quarterly and annual regulatory reports to the Tribal Council.
• Contribute to regulatory policy development and procedure updates.
• Lead hearings and enforcement actions related to gaming licenses.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and other regulatory bodies.
