Job summary

Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Equity Division seeks an Executive Director to join its Risk Management team, responsible for negotiating, drafting, and executing trading agreements with institutional clients.

The role requires a strong legal background in trading documentation, experience across ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, Prime Brokerage and other trading-related agreements, and the ability to guide senior business partners on complex requests.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience negotiating trading agreements at broker/dealer, buy-side firm and/or law firm.
• Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects.
• Contract drafting experience.
• Ability and initiative to proactively communicate with senior business unit members.
• Comfortable working in open trading floor environment.
• J.D. required.
• Prior management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate full suite of trading agreements including ISDA Master Agreements, CSAs, Master Securities Lending, Prime Brokerage, Listed Derivatives, OTC clearing, tri-party, master confirmations, confidentiality, and electronic trading agreements.
• Liaise with IED Sales and Trading desks, and Firm’s Legal, Risk, Credit and Onboarding teams.
• Engage with a diverse client base including hedge funds, mutual funds, pensions, insurers, banks, corporates and money managers.
• Act as primary point of contact with clients and their counsel for negotiations and evolving industry rules.
