Job summary

Theatre Mu, the largest Asian American theater company in the Midwest, is hiring a Managing Director to work with the Artistic Director and Board. The role oversees administration, financial planning, fundraising, grant management, marketing, and leadership as the theater moves into its 2026-2029 strategic cycle.

This full-time, admin-exempt position has a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Compensation ranges from $82,000 to $102,000 annually, with health, dental, retirement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least five years of senior leadership experience in a nonprofit or performing-arts organization.
• Proven donor cultivation success.
• Familiarity with financial management software such as Bill.com, Gusto, or QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all administrative functions, financial planning, fundraising, grant management, marketing, and organizational leadership.
• Partner with Artistic Director and Board of Directors to guide strategic cycle (2026-2029).
