Job summary

UC Irvine is seeking a seasoned procurement leader to guide a 25-person team and oversee sourcing, contracting, procurement card programs, asset management, and strategic initiatives. You will manage the annual budget and advise campus leadership on procurement strategy.

You will drive complex negotiations, optimize supplier relationships, and ensure UC policies compliance while advancing sustainability and small business programs.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the purchasing function with broad understanding of purchasing objectives and initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience leading a department and managing staff.
• Ability to negotiate with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement team to meet objectives.
• Oversee strategic sourcing, contracts, asset management, and procurement card programs.
• Review and approve high-dollar purchase orders.
• Provide counsel to UC Irvine executive management and leaders on procurement matters.
• Manage the department budget and drive sustainability programs.
