Job summary

CTUL seeks an Executive Director to lead a Minnesota-based worker center focused on racial, gender, and economic justice. The role requires collaboration with the Board and staff to guide strategy, governance, and program implementation.

The ED will advocate for communities, supervise leadership, and advance CTUL’s mission across partnerships and campaigns. The position is based in Minneapolis with some travel; compensation includes up to $100,000 annually plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in a field related to economic and racial justice.
• Enthusiasm for CTUL’s mission and grounding in community organizing.
• Experience in developing and managing budgets, administration, and general operations in a nonprofit setting.
• Strong team management skills.
• Understanding of fundraising and experience with development work.
• Collaborative across lines of difference to identify shared goals.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Language: Fluency in English; Spanish preferred.
• Lived experience as a low-wage worker welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Provide organizational leadership in line with CTUL’s mission and theory of change.
• Supervise Executive Leadership team and ensure programs connect to strategic frameworks.
• Support Board recruitment and engagement for healthy governance.
• Maintain collaborative culture and support workers and coalition members.
• Ensure bargaining agreement is correctly implemented with staff union.
• Develop fundraising and communications plans to motivate engagement.
• Establish relationships with external partners and funders.
• Represent CTUL publicly as executive spokesperson.
