Job summary

• Significant leadership experience within a nonprofit, education, advocacy, or related organization
• Passion for career readiness, workforce development, educational attainment and economic opportunity
• Strong expertise in organizational leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and public speaking skills
• Experience leading organizational strategy and managing complex initiatives
• Financial management, budgeting, and operational leadership experience
• Ability to balance vision with hands-on execution
• Commitment to expanding opportunities for Maine people

Responsibilities

• Serve as the chief executive and strategic leader of Educate Maine
• Provide leadership for organizational strategy, operations, and growth
• Partner with the Board to set priorities and annual workplans
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team and foster an inclusive culture
• Oversee budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and fiscal stewardship
• Lead fundraising efforts across corporate, educational, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors
• Cultivate donor and funder relationships and identify new funding opportunities
• Build partnerships with educators, policymakers, business leaders, and community stakeholders
• Advance policy priorities and represent the organization at statewide events
• Ensure long-term financial sustainability and impact measurement
