SmartRecruiters, Inc. is recruiting for the role of Executive Director of Special Initiatives for the New York City DSS/HRA agency.

This full-time position reports to the Chief Special Services Officer and leads agency-wide projects, policy implementation, and program operations. Based in New York City, the role requires oversight of health, safety, emergency preparedness, and data reporting, with collaboration across DHS, DOHMH, HPD, and external partners.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree and four years of full-time responsible experience in project management, management systems and development or related field.
• One year in supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial, or executive capacity.
• Graduate studies may substitute for the required general experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Office of the Chief Special Services Officer in overseeing assigned program areas and agencywide projects; review contracts and processes.
• Manage projects and initiatives; advise on agency policy, program and client issues; review documents and communications.
• Provide oversight of lead testing/remediation in congregate housing facilities; coordinate with DHS, DOHMH, and HPD for health and safety.
• Develop multi-year plans and improvement strategies; prepare summaries of program data and action recommendations.
• Support Deputy Commissioners on long-term strategies and agency-wide policy recommendations.
• Oversee COVID-19 testing and vaccination programs at congregate housing facilities; coordinate public health response with DOHMH.
• Represent the Office at meetings, work groups, and community events; organize meetings with DSS and external parties.
• Manage data collection, analysis, and reporting of key indicators; oversee emergency preparedness activities.
